MId 90s rims - modern equivalents?

Old School Hero
I've managed to buy a ~1995 Merckx Corsa Extra, which I plan to build up with Shimano Ultegra 6500, but with Dura Ace 7700 down tube levers. So it won't be exactly period correct, but it will be in the spirit of the era, with parts that are readily available (and I have half of them in the garage.)

I was wondering which rims would be suitable? I'll be using Ultegra 6500/6600 hubs, which are silver. I'd prefer to either use a rim that is readily available NOS, or a modern equivalent.

I was mostly riding MTBs in 1995, so I'm not too sure what rims were being ridden back then. Had deep aero rims made an appearance? Or V-section rims? Or were they still riding box sections?

Here's a list of modern rims I'm considering:

V section:
H Plus Son Archetype
Mavic CXP33

Box section:
H Plus Son TB14
Mavic Open Pro CD

Cheers.

Re:

Some version of the open pro was current in those days. They don't look much different from my '80's GP4's. Stickers changed and at times the width etc but the grey colour and overall shape has been knocking about for decades.

Open 4 was the old version of the open pro.
If you want something shiny, try h+son archetype or tb14. Look very 90s.

I use Open Pros too , used to have Open4cds . They are very good rims . Liked the MA40s too , but I don't think there's any equivalents these days

Cheers all.
I'm trying to decide between a dark anodised rim, which looks good with a tan sidewall tyre (Veloflex Masters are my favourite) or a shiny polished rim. Both the TB14 and Archetype are available in both. Currently erring towards the Archetype in a polished finish. I know the all black / all grey rims will only look cool with the tan tyres for the first 100 miles, until the braking surface wears to silver! :)

The Pacenti PL23s look good and are light. They are expensive as well, though! :)

machined rim braketracks stop the anodising from getting worn off and daggy , as well as stopping brake pulsing from the eyelet fixing methods , its just a pity the brake pad/rim debris messes up the tyre sidewalls too

To give you an idea, here are a couple of pictures of my Corsa Extra as I was in two minds about wheel choice too.

With Ventos

Ambrosio Prisma with specialized turbo s tyres which I may swap for Vittoria corsa evo sc 25mm soon.

Re:

Thanks for the pictures.
So which did you go for? :)
I like the Ventos / Shamals, but I'm unsure what a modern equivalent would be?
I'm thinking polished Archetypes will give a similar look but a shallower profile.
I'm building this up with Ultegra 6500, so Campag wheels aren't an option.
