yes they did, gump sold me some a few months ago. ashok has an extremely rare merlin ti riser bar

Merlin certainly did make Ti bars for a short while in the early 90's as I used to lust after a pair. I don't recall the shim though, maybe Ashok can confirm...?

A lot were shimmed, especially the early ones, IIRC Ibis, early Dean and the Merlin were all shimmed, scant will be able to tell you the first to use a bulge...

merlin were shimmed, ibis were bulge, think dean were bulge too.
IIRC the merlin ti bars off gump were £25
