1st project to try my hand at.
I have recently embraced the cycling world in a big way and found that I enjoy messing around with bikes.
Frameset - I have decided on Merckx Telekom corsa extra as it is one of my favourite team colours from the history of Merckx . The Telekom will be mine soon and once I have received it I will post some photos . I recently purchased a Merckx corsa extra complete build and have found the bike a joy to ride and have wanted a Telekom for a while now.
Groupset - I have decided to go with Shimano Dura Ace 7400. I have been sourcing the various components and have recently purchased part of the groupset -

Any advice around the build will be gratefully received and please feel free to recommend components to suit the build, I am still learning slowly.

Re:

Nice project! I saw a Telkom Merckx on eBay yesterday, looking smart!

I have a Dura Ace uniglide rear hub if it's of any use

Re:

Didn't dual pivot calipers come later with sti's?
I'm not really into dura ace, a bit minty for my wallet, so not an expert.

Sti levers were being used by Motorola in 1990. As were dual pivot brakes.
Telekom team started around '93ish, IIRC

Re: levers

The levers are 7401 and the calipers are 7403 which I think are about 1-2 years ahead in the history of 7400. I have gone for the later model as from research the dual calipers give you a stronger braking power it would appear. I may amend the calipers at a later date to ensure the components are all age correct.
