Haha! I was trying to imply that because it was badly designed that's how it ended up like that! Suppose an alien might of taken an unhealthy interest in it!
If you zoom in you'll see stuff like push fit rusty bearing races that's probably what made the shell give up all ...hope... As for flanges letting go...it's cnc not forged...so just grit and silt behind spoke heads would be enough to give that a reason to give up ....hope...
Also having to sides of a hub held together by a push fit and stick trick with titanium...hmm...that's kinda a hopeless idea!
