Marin Muirwoods - 1994

Old School Hero
I'm not a Marin or MTB expert, more in to road bikes, but I've fancied a retro MTB for a while especially whilst I teach my kids to ride.

Just picked this Marin up from an elderly gent nearby for the princely sum of £60 which I didn't think was bad. He'd mostly been using it as a hybrid hence it's in very good condition. Still has the original bottle cage etc.

I appreciate the Muirwoods aren't the most desirable but I really like the colours. I'm quite pleased with it.

I will probably take it apart a little to give it a good clean soon.

Is it a 1994?

Re:

Thanks for posting pics, my dad got one exactly the same in 1994 when I picked up my p7.

Brings back memories! I remember thinking how nicely it rode, especially helped by the light wheelset and fat tyres it came with (I think 2.1s, compared to my P7s skinny 1.95 cannibals).

I always felt the frame and brilliant rock star fork far out classed the clicky clunky but functional shifting.

Remember it was pretty lightweight for the money.

Re:

I like that blue too. Perhaps not top of the range, but it's a very good looking bike. For £60, a great buy.

Re:

Spent the morning cleaning the bike up. Fitted some cheap new tyres and a spare chain I already had. It's polished up quite nice, love the blue colour.

Just need some new grips.
