Marin decals from the 90 s

I have been looking for some early Marin frame decals for a while. Found these on ebay just thought I would share...

I do not know if they are good or bad or the right price, but since I cannot get originals 4 quid seems ok to me..

What year and model is your bike ?

Its a 1993 or 94 Palisades with the silver frame and matte grey decals. They look the same decals to me so I ordered some. I will report back as soon as I get them.

Have you contacted Gil on this forum, he can create decal sets for the correct year
let us know what they are like

No, I have not contacted Gil. D'oh ! Sounds like I should have been paying more attention on the Retrobike forums....

Well if the ones you have ordered are not what you want, contact Gil and see what he can do for you,
do you need the "Palisades Trail" and the "designed and built" decals ?
I've got a 89 bear valley which is going to be powder coated so I will be after a full set in gold, I got the Tange seat tube and fork decals from Velocals.
What colour is your frame ?

The r is not quite right but not bad for £4 the headtube decal is worth that alone!

Well, fingers crossed they will be ok for what I need. I am not building up an exact restoration, but more of a "re-boot" of a 20 year old Marin.

Ok, so the decals arrived, and for £4.50 delivered, I am more than happy. The advert is correct in stating they are an approximation though. However, they look like Marin decals and I do not think they look out of place on what I am "restoring". Are they like the originals on my bike ? Not quite. Are they acceptable ? Well they certainly are very close as far as I am concerned. They look like Marin decals and will look good on what was going to be a bare frame. I do not think the exact replica brigade would approve, but hey, they are £4.

What colour is your frame ?

All I wanted was the down tube and head tube graphics. It is not a faithful reproduction, but more of a girlie attempt at a build with a colour that I like as opposed to something that looks like a dull primer with bits of colour. (No offence to Marin or grey primer aficionados )

My frame colour will eventually be Orange as in Tango orange with black accents. Just to be different (ish).
