Marin Aluminium Frame restoration

I have an aluminium frame which I require fully refurbishing. The factory sold this BITD as an aluminium with lacquer finish with decals then applied. Over the years has endured some 'mountain bike action' thus now having areas of stone chips, mild surface scratches and general wear and tear.

I would like to send this away for stripping (rubbing down or fine shot blasting) and a final lacquer finish.

I have searched (not quite high and low) on the net and have seen mixed opinions and reviews whether it is actually achievable. I.e. lacquer not key-ing to the polished surface. I need a straight answer and perhaps a testimonial as to where the best place is to go. Colour Tech custom sprays seem confident they can do this but I have noticed a few reviews stating they have had bad experiences.

Surely this isn't an impossible task - after all Marin was able to produce the frame back in 1993! So you would think 20 odd years on this would be a walk in the park.....seems like bob Jackson can't do it!

I don't want to half do a job - I was the factory finish look......

Can anyone recommend a company?

Re:

Let's have a look at a couple of pics bud to gauge the condition.. I've polished up an IFT from that year and managed to save a Rocky Ridge too with varying grades of wet and dry and copious amounts of elbow grease and Autosol with excellent results :D :D Very satisfying when you know you've done it yourself!
