Manitou SX/Ti's problem

I have some Manitou answer sx forks on my 1998 Specialized M2 stumpjumper. They have new elastomers and springs fitted in June.

I have done 1 ride, a 8 mile lap of MM on them and now they have a small amount of play in the forward to back movement.
Ie, when you hold the front brake on and push and pull the bike.
What do you think this could be, is it just a case that the new bits were fitted wrong.
Or is it something more sinister :?:

the bushes are worn, best case scenario, worst case the actual stantion legs are worn.

I'm going to lean towards bushes as they haven't had much use.
Now how easy is it to find new bushes and fit them :?:

take the lowers off & hava look. shine a torch inside the leg to check the bushes. stantion wear will be obvious. if you're passin cwmcarn again anytime soon fairly certain i've got some cosmetic marked lowers u could hav for peanuts
