manitou fork

anyone installed the manitou springs that you see on ebay? ive been trying to locate new elastomers but cant find any, only the springs! and i hear they turn your ride into a po go stick on wheels. would appreciate any info on them. thanks :?

Old Manitous relied solely on stiction and the rebound characteristics in the elastomers to offer damping. As they are now old forks the bushes are probably a little worn and so there will be no stiction and with springs they will basically be pogo sticks, bouncing uncontrollably! I think Elite504 had some cautionary words about using them as well - bloody dangerous was his opinion (and his opinion is one to value!)

i used speed springsd in my mani three`s and thet worked really well :shock:

hmmm i have 4 old sets of manitous i may need to resurect (2x3, 1xEFC, 1x3 rear)...
