I have to pay somebody in France - what's the cheapest/easiest way to do it to minimise any fees? It's several hundred pounds, so not bothered if we are talking a few quid fees.

Bank transfer is free, if you trust them...?

I tried that before but I got hit for fees and so did they! It may be bank-dependant. I do trust them - they are building a custom frame for me :D

Dunno..

I had £650 go missing in the post between here and Germany after the p.o. told me it couldn't be insured.. only to find out afterwards that it could have been (with Airsure).. was a few years ago so things may have changed..

Cheque should be ok I would have thought... credit/debit card not an option?

Dang....

I've never been stung on bank transfers.. Hmm, I suppose a credit card should be ok??

cheap flights not a bad idea .

I am currently in france for a mtb race this week end and flights were 40 return .

you can send a cheque but they will charge him quite a bit . cheapest is probably bank transfer

Bank transfer I think works out at around £25. Had thought about cheap flight as it it virtually door to door 8) May yet do that - but think I may not get best prices now. It was £40 back in Jan for April flights - suspect it's a lot more now!
