Wearing my ignorance like a big pointy hat with a "D" on it I have to ask what these are/were?

They look like I could mount Deore II or XT thumbies to them, in which case I think I've some with broken mounts and these would be just the ticket.

If my Holmesian deduction is on the right lines could I have dibs while I check I didn't throw the shifters out?

Yes mate, they can be used with xtr, I had them running xt pods recently.

Just read your comment again. They are not designed for thumbies but instead they are used for mounting the shifters from say m900 combis direct to the handlebars. Xt or deore dx also. Thus enabling the use of select brake levers instead of the xtr cantilever levers. Very useful bit of plastic!
Not as desirable as Miki's stunning red CNC perches up for sale currently but a damn site cheaper..... You could buy these on German eBay for£30 + postage up until last few months, but now they are hard to find !

I got a set off another member on here recently, otherwise I'd be snapping these up.

Not a lot of cheap options out there if you want to run just the XTR pods...

So have another bump!
