Regulars on the forum may recognise this bike... I bought it from Mike, "velocipede", who bought it from Paul, "paininthe", - this is his original classifieds posting about it:

This poor bike wants to be ridden, and sadly I don't have the time to ride it, much like its previous two owners, so it's time to find it a new home! It's a Dyna-Tech MT5 frame, metal matrix and titanium bonded tubing, 17" c-c, with Pace RC35 forks that have barely been ridden since being serviced by Tim at Fork English. Wheels are blue Hope titanium hubs built by Wheelsmith with 32 double-butted stainless steel spokes on Mavic 217CD (grey) rims. The wheels are arrow-straight and the only wear on the braking surface is cosmetic, where the grey anodised coating has started wearing a little thin. I'm not sure what the QRs are but they're titanium and feel lovely. The kit is mostly 8-speed XT M737 and M739, the bars are titanium and it's a USE aluminium seatpost.

Paul's extensive photos are at:
https://picasaweb.google.com/114043...&authkey=Gv1sRgCILB1sDa4PrgEA&feat=directlink - Mike fitted a different stem and grips, although I'll supply this bike also with the original black Dyna-Tech titanium stem (130mm) and black ODI North Pole grips. Since buying it I haven't actually ridden it, except a test-ride round the block! I've properly trued the wheels and given it a bit of a clean and service although it didn't need too much.

It has an interesting story, mostly documented on this site - the paintjob is unique, applied by Raleigh UK when they replaced the previous owner's frame with a new MT5, as far as I recall. It's a superb bike, lovely and light with a classic race feel. It's currently 23.6lb (10.73kg), according to my workstand scales, but could easily be made lighter if you want to really trick it out.

I'd like to make back what I paid for it, £300, but if you want it packed up and posted it will be an extra £20. I'd prefer bank transfer payment (it's no less secure or traceable than a PayPal gift, and it's less hassle!), or of course cash on collection. Please give me a shout if you want more details or photos. Thanks!

Yes, I'm a bit gutted to have to sell it, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it and it's a great ride - shame its last two owners ( me and Mike) haven't had chance to give it the rides it deserves, it's certainly not the bike's fault!

Hi Beautiful bike and good luck with the sale, FYI the skewers are Odyssey Svelte or a copy of and they are lovely have a silver set myself  :D

They are lovely, aren't they? They've got a brilliant smooth action, they're light and simple and they feel great.

I had a pair on an old Cinder Cone BITD, which were stolen. :(
