Looks like it may be a light bike.

Putting the AMP back together after being in pieces for a while I thought I'd see how much it weighs.

It's currently an '95 AMP B3 frame, AMP F2 fork, AMP D1 disc calipers, Cane Creek Headset, Control Tech seatpost & stem and a pair of carbon fibre risers.

That little lot weighs in at 9.4lb. All thats left to add is shifters, mechs, cranks, wheels, cables and grips.

If i'm careful with the parts i spec this could well be one very light full susser. :D

B3,

I love lightweight bikes. A quick addition of components weights leads me to believe you could end up with a sub 20 lb. bike.

Are you going with retro parts, or modern lightweights? If I might suggest, XTR 8 speed casette, 8 Gripshift centera, Deus crankset with American Classic 4130 BB, all fantastic in the weight department.

Hi Terry,

Bits are all going to be retro ish, White industries rear (disc) hub, AMP front one. Grafton cranks, 8 speed XT shifters and mechs XTR cassette, or if i've got time i may well cnc a full titanium one.

Tyres are the only bit i'm uncertain about, i've got a set of team controls/ team masters with a kevlar bead, they're scrubed, so are a bit lighter than stock.

I weighed my Pro Image before I had finished the build, before I put the cassette, chain, cables and tyres & tubes on it weighed 17lb. Suprising how much these components add to a bikes total weight.
