London o2 arena

I've been twice to see bands and thought the sound was awful but i wasn't in the standing area, can anyone tell me if it's any better?

I'm reluctant to go back there but otherwise it's a trek up the motorway to Birmingham NIA.

Help :?

it was Bon Jovi and the Red hot chilli peppers so maybe!! But i remember when Led Zep played there and all the reviews said about the poor accoustics.

O2 arena is great if you are on the floor level or first tier seating. Anything above that sounds aweful and the highest seating area can induce virtigo.

Not sure about the Birmingham NIA but the NEC sounds great.

I was on the floor next to the sound desk for Led Zeppelin gig and it was easily the best gig i've ever been to. The sound was much better than Wembley Arena, so i'm guessing it may have just been the set up on the night. Although not my cup of tea Bon Jovi and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are meant to be ok live so i doubt it was down to the bands.

According to a pal of mine in Sutton Coldfield, the NIA as a gig venue isn't that great, he reckons it has quite an impersonal feel with a lack of atmosphere.

You ain't going to get good acoustics in a glorified tent, no matter what they do with egg boxes.

No complaints here!!

Seen many bands there, and the sound has always been good! (not a patch on The Albert Hall though!!!)

Roger Waters was possibly the best so far!
