I went to see the Raveonettes last night in Copenhagen for their tenth anniversary one-off show at Danmarks Radios concert hall which has outrageously good acoustics.
Now I whinge a lot about Denmark - taxes, crappy cars, heightism, bureaucracy, its concealed class and old boy system, the sausages from hell....., the lack of proper hills, the "in the box" hi-fi solutions most people seem to choose and the appalling way the Danes drive. But I'm stuck here because of the wife and kids.
But all this crap was worth putting up with for last nights show which I'd have missed if I lived anywhere else. And my local Indian takeaway which is better than anything I had in Rusholme. And my local brewery, Midfyns Bryghus - who relaunched their award winning beer with snuff, which I had last night when I got home. Mindblowing.
