This is what happens when you retire and lose all your disposable income

It's bad but I kinda like it - just need to scrape all the dirt off and check for cracks

Any idea what it could be? I'm guessing generic slalom frame (designed for the UK market as it has Crud Catcher mounts) - I've scoured all my old Dirt mag ads and the nearest I've found is the old Blunt slalom frames sold by CRC but they had an extra gusset at the seat and top tube junction (a la Planet X/Merlin etc) and a Barracuda-esque disc mount brace. Anyhow, the tubing has a really nice teardrop profile (both top and down tubes, so I think it's worth trying to save. We'll see . . .

Always fancied a Shooter 8) The Shooter gusset was between the top and downtubes and not a plate gusset like mine - their Blackjack frame was a little more similar but their gusset extended right to the headtube without the spaces, as did the Planet X frames.

Managed to clean it up now and found no damage apart from a nasty area of chainsuck which I've cleaned up and filed tidy. I don't think I'll be retouching this one - quite like the patina and being an old frame which has obviously been ridden as designed (disc mounts are unused though) I'd rather keep an eye on everything and not cover it up. I'll get some pics up soon.

The annoying / embarassing thing is that I remember having one of these frames well at least threading cables through those braces!
I look forward to seeing the post clean up pictures.

Looking loads better - couldn't resist a little going over with the touch-up paint - not too fussy though. Just waiting on a rear mech hanger and we're good to go. Even managed to find my old Crud Catcher and Hope hose guide 8)

Left the area of chainsuck untouched though so I can keep an eye on it  There are a few holes in the bottom bracket shell too - at first I thought they may be grub screw marks from a chain device but they go right through - threads appear to be undamaged though (fingers crossed).

Cheers!

I don't think so - it's this one so nothing unusual (I think it came spec'd on many different frames).

Yup definitely a Spooky-esque gusset but nowhere near as neat. The fact that frantic googling fails to unearth anything similar means I have a rather unique copy  or all the others broke
