Anyone made they're own lighting set up recently?

I'm thinking of trying something with a small gel motorcycle battery and 12v spotlamp.......

Ummm don't you will hate it ..... m8 did it about 3 years ago !

It's more than possible now to make your own led lights.
Tho if it was my money I would try a few hand held torches that are led .... my work gave me a free led torch are it's way bright !!!
Being work it must of been cheap !!!!

Motorcycle battery would way a ton against a modern LED light

The battery is not the problem, the 8" or so Car/motorbike Spot/flood lights weight a ton as well. But it's fun.

Ok if not the weight how about the cost .... my last battery for my BMW cost well over £50

So weight and cost I just don't see the point

I don't see the point in buying NOS old bike parts and not using them and they cost a lot :)
But some people like to do that.

Saying that I don't know how big the Motorcycles batteries are, if you can get one (or of course already have one) that fits in a bottle cage it's easiest. Else is making a bag an Velcro strapping it to the frame (or in your pocket)
Attaching the lamps to the handlebars or headtube is the tricky bit, what you got to play with.

Oh and a switch, is very useful.

Small gel m/c battery - I'm thinking not too heavy, nor too bulky, yet with easy recharge facility plus longevity, both in terms of lighting power and recharge-ability.

And rather than a whopping 8" SR500 headlamp unit, I'm thinking a small twin streetfighter look , maybe.....

Haven't looked into cost yet but the last time I saw bicycle lighting it was awfy dear
