Then im on holiday until the end of november, and then I'll be a full time dole dosser....

Anything is better than my current workplace, bunch of useless morons.

Hope you have a great holiday and can find something new when you get back

All I can say, is I wish you well with the application procedure to become a full time dosser, for that exercise is a disheartening disaster, all no doubt designed to make people think stuff this I would rather work at the place I last worked than go through all this

And then there is the time involved for it does not just happen once you filled in the forms and if you are really lucky you will get an arrogant sneering joke centre employee, called your advisor who will look down their nose at you and tell you what you ought to be doing. Sod what skills you have, you are a peg to be hammered into whatever shaped hole that maybe one or all of the following ;pays peanuts,is far away,is at unsociable hours or is difficult conditions, the result of which you will be back on the dole, but don't for god's sake quit the job, for then you will be high and dry.

Oh yeah and watch out for the courses they love to send you on, for they can be done, but the courses are so soul destroying they only being there because offering education to supposedly enhance job prospects is seen as an alternative way to go, but is in reality parasite companies claiming government funding to do something with the unemployed, whether that is education is open to interpretation.

Nope, you really don't want to go there, do agency work, start a business do anything, but the dole route, well, I am crawling out of it and never again will I subject myself to such humiliation as that. I have experienced it so can sympathise but my advice is to avoid it as if you are even the slightest bit low, you are guaranteed to be lower after you have gone through that mill.

But if you look into it, I believe the joke centre is offering grants to start small businesses and with that tax credits for a year, maybe enough to evade the sign on humiliation which is done now flanked by hefty security guards so hostile a place that has become, but I do suppose the actual interface between the unemployed and the faceless uncaring government.

When I enquired about something like this a year ago I was told that I could be given £300 without question or, if I wanted more (up to £500), the advisor would have to go to her supervisor/manager.

Then it exists, but I have heard recently, a colleague at college was forced off the benefits to find a job, but as an option she a trainee jewellery maker she took a grant for a grand and tax credits to become self employed.

It is in reality all a game of statistics, lower the stats or add other categories to make the stats look better, it makes it seem as if the government is effective. But I have found all the government is effective at, is painting pictures how they wish people to view them.

We are all being conned.

i applied to join a self employed new buisness studies course...produce a viable buisness plan, pass the course(soul destroying but worth it) and they throw 1600 quid at ya.this has to go into the buisness but its better than nowt....just a thought.....

as for the job center /soul crusher inc....ass the penguins just say...smile and wave boys ......keeps them happy which is important.ive been on more of these courses then i care to think about and not one was any help at all....set up and run by people with good intentions but no idea on what its like to actually do what they suggest.....cold calling companies for eg doesn work as it puts the employers back up straight away....

only way to really get somewhere is to get out and visit the work places and talk to them face to face,,,,the old networking thing does work for the most.....anyhoos goodluck on the search for the right job...
