Hi all,now I know this is a bit young for "retro" status but I`ll show you anyway.

Ebay item No. 7198617739 "Land Rover "full suspension Bike.

I e-mailed Pashley and they were sketchy about the spec, but they did say that the the frame was made from Reynolds 853 & 631.Could this be one of the only steel full suss bikes?,does any one have any views on the SRAM gear hub transmission ?,was the bike heavy, were there any tests done by the mags? (1999/2000).

Clicky

No idea as to the history of this bike, but as far as bike company/car company tie ups it looks better than most. Certainly beats the old Raleigh Discovery :D .

Hi,

No, not the only steel FS. There are dozens more: Shock a Billy, Wiesmann, Nöll, Vicious, Scapin.....

Pics are pretty bad and I not really a FS expert, so not much to say on pivots and system by me. Pretty fat tubes for steel BTW. No clue whether it is actually steel. The poor pics again.

Thank for the reply,
Pashley made the frames from Reynolds 853/631 but are a bit sketchy about anything else.
I think the basic design looks OK (loads better than the current LR branded offerings) and seems to follow the tried & tested Kona/Turner 4 bar rear set up.
The rear hub is a big unknown for me.
Rear multi gear hubs are nothing new but why did they never catch on ?
Are they unreliable or heavy,I know that Rolhoff have a loyal group of followers.
I, would be interested in buying a bike, just for the rarity value alone plus the Pashley build quality should be very good.
