suitable for both cantilevers and vees?! really? I though vee levers made cantis soft and canti levers made vees really sharp - can anyone enlighten me as to which type these are really meant for?

You are right , but some levers have a 2 cable position , so you can run both canti and V brakes .
not these ones though , I think they are canti only .
