Sadly most of the bikes we now own or covet have probably been extracted from their original owner unlawfully at some time or other. Tis the world we live in. Bike theft was massive during the 90's although it does seem to have abated a lot in recent years.

But yes looking at the ad from that point of view the seller doesn't appear to be the type to have come about this bike from an mtb'ers back ground.
