KONA LAVA DOME RACE LIGHT (97)

First one I've seen with the supposedly standard Curve cantis. I think most of the ones sold in the UK were fitted with Vs to help them sell.

I don't understand why people selling size 16 bikes have the seat so low that it looks like a child's bike. It would look much better with the saddle at a reasonable height. It's intended for up to 5-6 and plausible up to 5-8 with the seat up, so why make it look too small for those kind of buyers?

I reckon it's had one lady owner and little use.

Judging by the colour of the bottle cage - and the fact the reflectors are still on etc..

Looks in very good condition for age - wish it was an 18".

This one's fetching a tidy price already!

I bought a 16" a while ago, and noticed the prices for these were way above the 18/19" versions. I was outbid on a very average 96 Hahanna for 220 quid for instance?? In a natural experiment, one bloke was selling a 16" 95 Hahanna at the same time as a 18" 95 Fire Mountain. The first went for 200, the latter for 70.

If you are looking on eBay for 16" you are obviously short and that saddle height is probably about right for someone looking in this category... The 5'4" owner of my 16" has it maybe slightly lower. It just looks odd; the geometry doesn't seem to work with that seat tube for someone so short and the front end is way too high and it ends up being a sit up and beg machine... It looks like an Apollo from Halfords. Basically, shorter people have to go for this one as it's the smallest option, but it doesn't fit the shorter person that well.
