hi.. just bought this beauty.
it was listed as a 56, and i bought it un-tested
as it turns out, when i collected it, its a 52-53 cm, so a bit small for me..

as far as i can tell, its in original state.. genius frame, forks, 8 speed veloce, kona seat, velocity stem, headset.. even the Vittoria tires have not been replaced, and dont need to be..
53 cm toptube is a bit short for me, .. would hate to have to sell it
but a long stem, can do wonders... so have to test it.
(a 1" velocity will be hard to find, so will have to use what i got..)
cheers

I can't believe that picture was only posted in January! I own this bike now and it looks nothing like it does here. It has been parted from all those original parts and the paintwork is awful! It isn't pretty anymore and looks like it has had a horrible life.

I'm in the middle of restoring it now and I'll post a picture when its done. However, it is very tasty: frame and forks are staying red - Campag Centaur groupset - rasta King headset - green King hubs on Open Pro rims with green Salsa skewers - rasta Salsa bartape and short 'n' shallow bars - a yellow Flite and black Syncros road stem and seatpost. Of all the stuff I've owned, this is my favourite bike ever.

i sold the frame/forks..and think there was an attempt to make it a ss..(?)..
warms my hart, that you are restoring it with great parts...
cheers

Some paint has been removed by sandpaper, but the general condition was very poor when it arrived - lots of big chips that had gone down to the metal. I had every intention of giving it a proper paint-job right from the outset, so the paint was irrelevant to me anyway.

I built the bike to check the parts for fit and was really surprised at how nicely it rode. So much so I ran it for four months before biting the bullet and stripping it for a new paint-job. I've got a steel Bridgestone with full Dura Ace but the Kona makes it feel like a dog.

Only thing is, I can't decide if I should keep it looking exactly as it is, or use yellow graphics from the '97 bike.

need piccy..
but would keep the 95`stickers.. (would be nice in blue, with the gray stickers...uhmm)

I've just linked to the graphics I've got in mind...but whichever ones get put on the bike I'm having them yellow with a black background, in keeping with the rest of the rasta bits on the bike.

I really, really don't know which to go for...
