Just registered on the site and introduced myself in the 'Newbie' thread. I have just won the Explosif for £411. What is with these prices, if my wife finds out I am dead, this is supposed to be a cheap bike for getting to work and back! Trev.

I'm very annoyed with myself - my system was running a little slow so I needed to be on the safe side, but even so I bid too early with 14 seconds to go and gave you a chance to get back. Even so, I must say you did well to get back in 12 secs later.

FWIW this was the most expensive retro Explosif for a very long time and a just as nice one went for £205 recently - where were you then?

Please tell Mrs Thorpe that if she decides after due consideration that you will in fact have to be eliminated, she will be able to get the money back on the bike by contacting me.

I know I saw that one but for some reason went after the lava dome, doh! I dont think I will be telling Mrs Thorpe about the final purchase price. Sorry you lost out, I know how you feel as I was the same with the lava dome. Trev.

Incidentally, are you seriously intending to use a bike with XTR drivetrain and Crossmax wheels for commuting? Quite apart from the waste, you'll be in real danger of getting mugged!

If you want to swap the frame for a 1998 853 Explosif in the same size, let me know.

There are lots of 'off road' opportunities on my way to/from work and I have used a £3000 Rocky on some occasions to get there, without any incident of note to date! The bike will not be wasted, rest assured.
