Klein Pinnacle seat tube crack

I have recently picked up an early Klein Pinnacle and noticed what appeared to be a pair of 2mm or so cracks, either side of the bottom of the seatpost clamp. I gave those areas a light sand, and they are cracks.

Neither goes all the way through to the inside, and they aren't very long. What can I do? Bike is planned to be a light rider.

I know that sanding/filing out the cracked area can work, or are they minor enough that I should just ride it and not worry?

this is a fairly normal place for klein to crack. if theres enough extended seattube, you can cut off the top of the seat tower, extended the groove verticaly down the back of the seattube & then use a standard 31.8mm press fit seat colar.
post up a pic & should be easy to tell if fixable or not

Best pics I can do atm, the cracks are where I have removed paint - either side of the circular bit. There's no way I can cut the seattube shorter really, but I can drill a couple of 1-2mm holes to stop the cracks getting any bigger - Sheldon's solution from a quick search.

bummer, same situation as my fervor. you're right, the seattube isnt long enuff to cut & fit a colar. i did the tiny holes at the ends of the crack trick to stop it spreading, with even with a stupidly long seatpost with massive overlap it still creaked.. hope you have better luck.

Dude my heart bleeds for you. . :-(
