Klein MC1 stem bolt

I have tried to raise the stem on my attitude this morning,. Put the allen key in the bolt and turned, the bolt came stright up and out of the stem, looking at the long bolt and it has sheared on the thread.

The stem is stuck fast so I am thinking its the old type i used to work on back in the days, where you had to raise the bolt up and then knock it down to release.

Can anybody advise how it is inside the stem and how i am going to release the stem.

hi spark....if the bolt is removed the wedge should come out with a gentle tap......a broom handle type piece of wood would be my starting point as it wont damage anything.....

Great, thanks for the help, Will try with a bit of wood to protect it.

I found a picture of a MC1 stem and wedge so can understand what it looks like, fingers crossed.

I can make a new bolt and wedge on my CNC machines at work, in titanium so hopefully wont snap again!
