Klein Mantra [Warning: Overpriced Auction]

This was posted on an earlier auction watch link. The paint is superb, like Carsten said really deep. The frame and forks were £2000, so add in the XTR and you'll be talking nearer £3000.
I've seen similar aged Cannondale Ravens go for upto £700 and no where near as good condition.

Oh and my mate had the Mantra Carbon as shown above, but with the the Manitiou fork, but it went back after several problems :(
 
I think the real question here is how has that bike been in existence for 10 years yet it looks like it's never been ridden. Surely the whole point of spending that kind of money on a bike is to reap the rewards on the trails. Yes it looks nice but I see that as 10 years wasted.

Agree totally. What a waste. Is it really worth having a paint job like those bikes. When you consider the treatment a mtb gets :shock: It would destroy you to get a paint chip from a stone flying up :cry:
