Regarding the Klein headset, I assume this means I can't swap forks easily?

no, unfortunately you cant. the steerer tube needs to be klein specific and only a few Manitous and older Judys came with these steerer tubes. there are reducers though that would allow to run normal 1 1/8 head sets and Reset in germany makes replacement head sets for 1 1/8 forks. expensive... but first check if the fork needs to be replaced.

If it's post Trek, does it still have the wierd Klein bits (headset and bottom bracket) or will it be more standard?

The BB is normal but the headset is Klein's Airheadset 3.1 version. So it needs a fork with a special steerer unless you install Reset Racing's conversion headset for 1 1/8" forks...

This Adroit has also a possibility to install a rear disc brake, but it's old Hayes standard and needs an adapter for IS2000.
