Hi again everybody.

Having to further whittle down the amount of bikes I don't have time to ride.
I have on offer an immaculate John Pavey machine. 14spd -

Great frame and forks on this bike, the quality is good and the ride is responsive - only trouble is I'm too short so I can never get comfortable.

This bike deserves to be ridden so I'm offering it complete and don't want to split it.

She's been powdercoated blue at Armourtex with fresh decals applied. The forks have been re chromed so the bike looks fresh and she rolls on new inner tubes and vredestein fortezza tyres.

Size : 22"
Frame and forks : Reynolds 653 (told to me from previous owner)
Handlebars : Ambrosio
Stem : 3ttt (gunmetal smoked colour)
Headset : Tange
Brakeset : Shimano Exage
Shifters : Shimano 600
Chainset : Shimano with Biopace elliptical chainrings
Pedals : Rare maillard with toeclips and straps
Front Mech : campagnolo - (don't know the model)
Rear Mech : Shimano SIS
Saddle : Velotech
Seatpost : aluminium fluted (non branded)
Rims : Alessa
Hubs : Suntour
Tyres : Vredestein Fortezza.

Since rebuilding this bike has covered approximately 100 easy miles.

Take a look, see if it interests you and if you want a great looking rider - (this bike is a fast roller) let me know. Great stance and purpose about it this one.

Price £350 - buyer collects is preferred.

regards Toomski

Re:

I've just completed a build of a John Pavey frame a lot like the lovely blue one in this thread. It's reynolds 653, bought off ebay having been resprayed by the seller in a rich metallic red.

It looks like a Bob Jackson frame, the lugwork and especially the way the seat stays frame into the seat lug. Is that possible?

Not as authentic as the blue bike, mainly campagnolo veloce 9spd groupset from the early 00s I had in my box of old bike bits, supplemented by ebay purchases and a bit of help from our local secondhand bike shop (recycles in Surbiton). Hand built mavic open pro rims on campag hubs, with a lovely Cinelli stem and bars, and a campag seatpost. All in silver. My wife thinks it was a bargain...

I took it for a first spin today... Well I thought it was the prettiest bike on the road! Quick, too. Lively and responsive, it just made me want to pedal quicker and quicker.

Here's another John Pavey. I found no serial number or other markings on the bottom bracket or elsewhere PB230242.webp . I'd guess it is from the 1990's based on the 130 rear OLD. I agree it is very similar to a Bob Jackson I have except the bottom bracket differs.
