Slung together out of free stuff, borrowed stuff and found under the desk stuff I present a 1998 model year GT Backwoods, most likely available in late 1997.

It has tyres from a car boot sale

It has long travel Judy T2

It has a DX chainset

It has Deore bits

Its black

Its big

Re:

How many Backwoods' does a man need?! (ps. frame is getting collected today, 24 hr service.....sorry for the slight delay).

Re:

Big? It’s HUUUUUUUUGE.

And I asumme the ride from that floppy and compliant rear end will be soft as a feather mattress....

Weren’t they renowned for being stiffer than a Very Stiff Thing?

Steel frames can feel very bendy for one person and stiff and unyielding to another, same with aluminium, harsh to some, compliant to others.

This is just another 7000 series frame, its alright, its built for a ride up in the Peaks soon, it may be perfect, it may be pants.
