iv'e been bloody busy today have a look

iv'e been sat in the garage/home workshop and i have made this moster of a shiney stem i started with a half finished high end steel stem made locally some time back (iv'e only just had time to crack on with it) i ground and filed the excess weld back flush and then pain stakingly sanding and grinding and then polishing to get to this and it isn't finished yet

it was like bliss radio on no interupshions exept when my mum brought me a cuppa down as she was bored and wondered what i was doing today was good sun coming in the window a clear work bench i couldn't have asked for any more .

iv'e been planning to do this stem for years and i mean years i got it 2002 so its taken a while had a local film was making nice steel stems but they never took it as far as to grind and file and finish the way mine is as they were for the trials market and production cost wuld have been mental but il finish it tomorrow and get some daylight pics

What polish compound did you use?

Oooooo...............that's some zen polishin' right there..........it is bloody good to get peace and do summat craftsmanlike, though

just finished the polishing side gonna clean it then lacour the shiney


all i used to polish was grit paper started with 180 then 400 then 600 and 1200 to finish

i just put the second coat of lacour on it and already im thinking i should swap it out for a salsa stem think im gonna start a swap thread some where else
