...one reverse of the car later the rear wheel for my Bontrager is toast (or should that be taco?). A lovely condition Sun CR17A is reduced to scrap.

My LBS is trying to source a new 17mm Mavic, apart from costing a fair bit over here, it's just not the same...

To look on the bright side, at least I only squashed the wheel!

Hmm I reckon! Wonder what it would cost? A new XC717 will probably run to 150 bucks...

I don't think it would cost too much, I send pressies to my sister's kids all the time, at xmas it never costs more than £20 and those have weight and size combined, all be it not as big as a rim.

Kev's looking into it for me (thanks Kev). I must admit his NOS CR17As are the preferred option, not least because of the outrageous price of, well, any bike parts over here (I paid $80 for an XT front mech which wasn't too bad, but I've been told to expect around $150 for a single Mavic, that's 70 quid!)

Solved thanks to MadCowKev!

Two rims for the price of one... 8)

If anybody wants to ship big stuff from the UK to overseas, I can recommend Transglobal Express, who are a reseller for UPS. Good prices!
