Is this a worthwhile bargain?

I'd say that is indeed a worthwhile bargain, if hes measured 21" all the way up the seattube then it must be smaller, looks at least 18" though

I would say it is very good value if the parts work - just as an example, I think the bar ends may be Onza and worth a few pounds, the LX cranks should raise at least £20, the XT rm at least £15, LX STI, LX pedals, fm, Kore stem etc, you're getting beyond £50 of value before you take account of the frame and forks.

I'm not a GT expert, but I once had one in size 18 and I think the stays parallel to down tube and top tube approx horizontal may suggest that this is size 18 too.

Excellent decals for a 15 year old frame, great looking bike, cash on collection, it all looks good to me.

I think it is a 1995 Avalanche and incidentally in suggesting that it was size 18, I'm pretty sure that GT used to size on a c-c basis, and the only sizes were 14.5, 16, 18 and 20. The fork should be a Bologna Lite, triple-butted cromoly and quite a good fork.

Well I've got it home and its absolutely mint!

I'm well happy.

Just one question. Does anyone know the diameter of the seat post needed for this frame?
