1992 Cinder cone

Hi Retrobikers,
If you want to check the authenticity of this frame and it's history I bought it from camokid about 12 months ago from this site. I've never doubted it was a Kona Cindercone, I have some original pictures before his respray, unfortunately it was a 20" frame, not the 19" frame I was expecting. The 1 1/8 inch headset, frame angles, seattube dimesions and braze ons are all consistent with it being a 1992 Cindercone.

It was several months after I purchased the frame before I found out it was the wrong size and I no longer have the time to restore bikes as I would like so it is being moved on.

Don't worry Nic, no offence taken. Good luck with the auction, I just hope the frame doesn't go to waste and it would be great if it ended up with someone from this site.

The aim is to take it to Argos for a respray and maybe to have horizontal dropouts welded on

it will certainly be well loved - have some Onza chill pills to put on, paul components levers, middleburn cranks and mavic rims on XTR hubs ... just hope I can get it!

I did! But weird things happened - at 2 secs to go I was in with the highest bid - then the price jumped £30.00 to my maximum without there being an increase in the number of bids! Does snipe register in the number of bids early but not reveal the bidder's maximum until right at the end. If so that's misleading as the person ahsn't really bid.

Still I'm well pleased at the price!
