Yes, that's what I expected to be honest. Thought there might be an outside chance. Want to go ahead with my Diamondback, but don't want to spoil the excellent handling....been there, done that!

So just get a P2 with a stumpy threaded steerer and stick an extender in it...

...job done, minimal expense, fork you want that fits

I'd never do that. If the steerer was short enough would it be possible to leave the threaded portion unmolested and still use it in an aheadset set-up?
