Is there a retro full sus bike which can still cut it?

Something pre 96 or so?

Who's still using their old school full sus with success? I mean a hardtail with 60 or 80mm from 94 will ride similar to a hardtail with 80mm forks from 2008. But full sus? Discuss.

I have a Diamond Back Dual Response. How does this compare?

I'm not really up to speed with all the latest stuff.

Hoping to finish the Litespeed Occoe FS next week and it is going to be my main ride , so hopefully it will ride ok .

That was my point really. Last full susser I did more than pedal round a car park was a 98 STS.

There are some proflex around from maybe a little later. Can they cut it though? No idea. But this must be closest to a single pivot still around today.

The Specialized FSR may be OK too :?

The RTS design is supposed to work well, but I've never owned one so I'm not too sure and Specialized seem to have got it sussed reasonably early on. Then there's the Hecklers and Burners, but I think they were a bit later. :?
Then there's all the URT and sweet spot designs that some folks swear by but others say are fundamentally flawed?

The biggest problem I found with earlier stuff was it either bobbed like a cork or didn't move at all. flexed like crazy and/or weighed a ton.

Mind you, the same could be said about a lot of the stuff being sold now. :D

I'll take a pic and post it - soon!

what about stuff like amp? lts/sts? shokabilly?

I guess as the poster above mentions some of the older santa cruzs are on the verge of being retro. That said I always see sc as being a full on new school brand.
