Yesterday the missus and i went shopping - i needed some new jeans and trainers. Now general shopping is something i don't like at best so iIdo it as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

Trawling round the generic retail park left me feeling like a bit of a freak.
i don't want tight hipster jeans, low slung boot cut twisted or whatever (i like to be able to put junk in my pockets and sit down in them too) nor do i want to pay £80 for a pair that will likely be worn whilst tinkering with a bike or something oily/dirty.

My choice of trainers was as bad as strides. Neon hi tops, quilted pumas or limited edition shop specials with gold medallions galore. But a normal pair of comfies with no excess padding, bling or price tag (plain white airmax classic - certainly that'll be £115 please) err no sorry

"whadya want plain boring wunz for? ain got no bling man" said a somewhat put out sales assistant in a sports shop that had naff all sports related gear.

grumble, whinge, moan.. look like some kind reject form britans got no talent.. grumble

TEsco's for jeans.. haven't paid more than a tenner for apair in the last 3 years and all are wearing very well.

Trainers.. ebay (where I got my Vans from) or Sportsworld.

i actually phoned a mate to rant while was was out and he said the same thing.

Tesco's jeans sizes are mental though. Well unless my legs grew 3 inches when I tried them on and promptly shrunk again when I put my old pair back on. A depressing age reality check it may be but getting jeans from M&S is an option. £20 for normal straight fit and decent quality. That does me these days unless I can spot some 501s cheap somewhere.

 I was just about to comment that Tesco's sizing is a little generous but not that far out. . .

Don't think its as much generous as random. Can pretty much guarantee that I'm a 32/30 in trousers/jeans unless I start getting down in budget ranges. The Tesco jeans were a good couple of inches to short and I don't think denim Kung Fu ttrousers is a look I want. But having had a quick check on the racks it looked like 30" legs meant anything within a +/-10% error margin.
