IPhone disappearing contacts after Apple update

My favourites and more importantly my contacts have disappeared after the latest Apple update. Can I get them back? And if so, how? Please keep it simple, I'm not very geeky......ta

In the cloud. Perhaps the update required a full clear out and reinstall like a new phone. It means that if you use cloud storage for your phone backup you can reproduce your old phone on any other if you lose or break it.

I think you’re right. It all sounds good. I’ll be interested to see if I can actually get it to work when needed....
