Information on Moser frame

Retro Newbie
Hello, first post on this site.

I have a Moser frame, see attached pics.

Can anyone provide any info on year and possibly paint scheme, as I wish to restore it.

I have searched and come up with the Leader AX and SC, they both seem to use a quill seatpost (which I never knew existed until recently). However mine uses a seat collar bolt.

It may not be a Moser as I have been unable to determine the provenance of the frame. It requires a weld on the inside of the rear derailleur hanger. It is currently being ridden by my son with single speed as rear mech hanger is bent and requires straightening.

I have sent emails to the company without reply.

Its interesting as it has a race number hanger, and the tube are different shapes i.e. they widen and flatten in places. I can provide more pics if required.

I am thinking of painting it similar to complete bike in attached pics, which had a dura ace 7400 6 speed groupset. I have sourced some of these parts already. Interestingly this gruppo has aero brake levers, which I personally prefer to the clothes line type.

Anyway, I'm hoping to ride L'eroica in October, if I can get some movement back in left arm, which is paralyzed after a career ending race crash.

So any details gratefully accepted.

A few people have said its MAX tubing alright.

Is there a Moser bikes fan site anywhere on the web? I have looked but can't find.

Don't have a serial number but the rear dropouts are made by Columbus.
Have not got original fork, using a 531 off a Peugeot.

Attached is a bad photo of brake bridge, I'll check out when I go home and post better pics.

Ive asked the lad who gave me it where it came from, he got off someone and cant remember who, so have no idea if tis is an original or a spray job.

The number holder would indicate a decent race bike I suppose.

Bottom Bracket

Here's a bad pic of bottom bracket - cant discern any number.

Also here's what the bike looks like now. My 15 year old uses it for school and general run around , he loves it, and wont give it to, says he likes it as it is! I have an alu DeRosa Vision from I think 2002 which I'm building for him to use while this is being resprayed.

Have been collecting Duraace 7400 parts for the build. Now just need to find a good painter ( based near Dublin, Ireland).

hi, its unusual isnt it.i thought serotta as some of these did have fastback stays but the extended seat post clamp is a bit of a puzzle ? because it is on some moser leader's as well as a quill seat post type.head tube looks fillet brazed.
the paint and decals look authentic.
