Well we know roughly what it is but want more info.
A mate acquired a nice Bianchi road bike. It was sold, by a local old style shop when it closed. with it came so possible provenance.
A magazine review of a profession team bike , some technical docs and a MG Technogym team jersey. He was sceptical of this and didn't take that into the price but it would be nice if it had some truth. Now has anyone any leads as to where we might start looking to see if any of this is true. The bike is as follows:
frame number 5307603 . Tubing decal says Columbus TSX. The down tube is flattend and slightly oversized at the bottom bracket. Seat and chain stays are 3/4 chromed from the dropouts.
It had what I think is a complete Record groupset, including hubs, with 8 speed Ergos. the stem is an ITM 700 replica and the bars match.
Any pointers as to age for example. could be a touch earlier than the groupset maybe? I suspect that the jersey is from about 96 so that could be a red herring as the group could be earlier? Or any ideas of how to check if it was a team bike.
