Retro Newbie
Hello all, this came in to the non-profit bike shop where I work as a bare frame. At first sight I figured it was a Marin, since I remember some of them having nickel plating but as I looked at pics I noticed no Marins had the tapered stays that this has. I tried to get pics of some of the frame's distinctive details, looking forward to any input y'all may have.
Side View: (it's got 700c wheels on so that throws proportion off a bit)
Squished seat tube:
Headtube reinforced (externally butted?) top and bottom:
Curved brake bridge between seatstays:
Seatstays squished at the top, tapered at bottom.
Seatcluster shows what I figure was original, satin finish. Previous owner seems to have sanded main portions of tubes, maybe prepping for paint, with fine sandpaper or the like.
