I wish I'd hung on to that

Hi
We all probably spend a little more time browsing the various forums nowadays or watching antiques programs on TV, then seeing what people are paying for stuff we discarded,
I got to thinking of what worthless items I got rid of or traded for some similarly worthless junk.
In the early 80s I had a good Mini Cooper S but wanted a bigger car so I swapped it for a nice Austin 1300. Fail.
Watched Bangers and Cash where they dragged a rusty wreck of a Cooper S out of a garage and it sold at auction for £18000.

So what did you get shut of?

This 1972 VW camper & the 1986 Raleigh Royal behind it. Pic taken in 1987. If I had them now I'd flog the VW & keep the bike.

Re:

As I thought, vehicles rate highly in the "wish I still had it" catergory.

What about watches? Much easier to store than cars, motorbikes or bikes.

They don't have to say Rolex to be collectible nowadays - I bought 3 ex WD Smiths W10 watches for a tenner from the local army surplus stores in the early 80s - all working but cracked crystals.
Eventually sold them all for about £20 each.
Now fetching between £1000-1500 each.

The only thing we all need is a crystal ball!

Two that I restored and loved. Not sure my back would like either these days.
