Whats the deal with 'Nishiki'....to be honest, before visiting this forum I had never heard of them. Whats the history etc?
Thanks
HB

Well, the bits of information I have are...

They made those mad Alien frames.

Were once owned by the same company as Raleigh and built the USA RSP Dynatech style lugged frames.

Other than that, not sure. :?

I think it's really down to the fact that some of the 'Alien' bikes were designed by Richard Cunningham, making them a sort of poor man's Mantis which were massively expensive in the day. The real Cunningham nishikis had the cool bolt on rear ends a la CR7, very, very nice!

I think this is 1 of the best reasons to own & promote retro bikes, through sites like this & other means. just to remeber the past (ownership isnt always required tho)

Never heard of Nishiki before I joined this site or trimble or Funk or Mountain Goat or Fat Chance or a host of others.
Thats the great thing about Retrobikes, theyre so diverse, so much to learn.

Enjoy !
