i know of a 56cm Merlin road bike for sale local to me

went out riding with a mate last night. apparently his older brother is gonna be selling his rarely used road bike. i asked a few questions about it to try an get an idea of spec.

this is what i gleaned from the conversation

56cm frame, likely it's campagnolo chorus groupset, i think 10 speed with mavic ksyrium sl wheels.

apparently he got it as part of a deal of being a sponsored motorcross rider but never really used it as it wasn't his thing and it's just been sat doing nothing. i was told that with exception of dust on it it's almost new old stock.

that said i personally haven't seen it but as the guy i rode with is a good mate i said i'd see if there was any interest in it.

price wise i am not sure what he wants but i'll say £2000 for him as adverts need a price but i'll chat to him more and get a definite spec/price and hopefully some pics if anyone is interested.

yeah the price was just pulled out of the air as adverts need a price but i wanted to see if there was anyone interested.

i was supposed to be riding with him tonight but i have since been called into work for a nightshift.

ok, got a little more info, turns out it's ultegra not chorus, here's a pic but i'll try and get more.

i have asked for all the usual info and a confirmed price etc

being honest i am not a merlin freak so i don't really know alot about these but i'll try and get as much info/pics as i can and then if your serious i'll give you the guys number/email etc.

i got some pictures today of this bike, i think the seller might split if someone is interested in the frame etc. if anyone is interested send me a pm and i'll give you ben's details. he's a top bloke and i've known him for a long time.

having seen the bike today i would say that it needs the dust cleaning off it but the rims look unused but there are a couple of storage marks. the are 2 tiny dints in the frame, one on the driveside chainstay and another where the bars have come round and the brake cable adjuster on the front barke has hit the downtube. both are small.
