I just don't understand...

none of the bikes i have built have had the near-decade of continual evolution my main bike has had, and as such, dont ride as well.

the only way i could make one ride as well is by building a carbon copy, and where's the fun?

so i build, ride a few times, dismantle and sell.

Erm..I think i had better get my coat.

Had a few frames/bikes since joining here...love building/tinkering and riding them. Some I said I would never sell...and have, if something else turned up that interested me...(sorry KP, was that you as well on Sunday evening )

Also enjoy building knowledge of different bikes and parts etc...still know little now, but 18 months ago knew nothing...even bought a Klein once.

What floats your boat I guess.

Cheers, Carl

PS The Klein wasn't a proper one

Ride

We're all looking for the "ultimate" ride, the mythical one that doesn't exist, the reason why we all keep searching for the holy grail, its what keeps us all alive and young at heart, if you don't understand that, you won't be riding for as long as many of us. :D

Interesting thread,

It does seem bizarre, I know in a recent case or two, something more interesting turned up, which is understandable.

I know this all too well, with 7 cars in the stables, and they keep replacing each other. an awesome classic van has just over shadowed a classic estate with much potential. and the one with all my money in it, I've been so stop-start with it I don't even know if I'll really want it when finished, but it does need finishing.

Bikes, similar, spurred on by a lasting memory of a Pink Seeker Mega, i have almost complete Sorcerer Mega Foxin dark blue/black and not even sure I'm that keen now! partially cos its not really what I wanted, and partialy cos I loved riding the donor Raliegh so much, crazy , and now i have another clean unused bike taking space and its winter! :?

for me there has been loads that have come stayed a while then gone i brought an orange c16r loved it but somthing just didn't fit i rode it but never got attached but this clockwork im building is a keeper my old pre retrobike zasker was two years of fun then my taste changed and she went now ive got rid of loads of bikes im left with what i like and want to keep but again somthing could change in the future and then they could go its weird :? :? but i do see what you mean
