how to fit a Campag valantino extra rear mech

Hello all,
I’m looking for some advice on how to fit a Campag valantino extra rear mech.

Mine looks like this without the small bolt on the top left hand side of the gear hanger

How does it attach to the frame?. I can’t see at the moment what the bolt attaches to?

As you can probably tell the frame and mech did not come together so I don’t know how it should be.

Can anyone explain how it goes on?

Googling "vintage rear mech hanger" should throw up a few pictures and threads on how it should look like. You need the small bolt to hold the mech / hanger to the frame otherwise it falls off when you take the wheel off.

I assume your rear dropouts don't have a brazed on hanger?

I have a straight drop out with no hanger. I assume that the bolt goes through the dropout with a washer on the back?
How far along the drop out should the hanger be? As far back as it will go or further forward? Thanks

The inside "nut" of the small bolt that holds the hanger to the frame is shaped so that it sits in the half round curve of the end of the droput......so it's pushed to the back of the dropout. The hanger itself usually has 2 small dimples that locate it onto the droput that stops it spinning.
