How much do paper boys get these days?

This is all getting a bit Four Yorkshiremen.

Had an evening round and a Sunday round in 1977. I was paid in black jacks and fruit salad. With a bottle of Cresta if I were lucky lad.

£5.80 for 5 evenings, plus extra round on Thursdays. I was the highest paid since it was over 6 miles long, starting 2 miles from the newsagent.

35 papers, 5 days per week and i used to get £8.50, That was in 2006 when i was 14

Nowadays the shop is owned by a pakistani family who do all the rounds themselves because they have hundreds of relitives

Place where I had my second paper round, he just didn't like me twat..
I got my worst paper rounds in the whole shop.
There were other kids who came way late for their papers.
Talking 7:30am.
They still needed to do their round before School.
I was up at 6:00am and although I had two rounds they were at different shops.
Some nob tried to get me onto trouble saying I had a round at another shop..
He said he didn't care as long as I done his round in time.

Other thing was it was a Newsagent and Post Office, well my Nan worked there in the Post Office part...he just never liked me and I thought he was a grumpy nob.

Just before I left was only doing a Sunday round.. well I told him I'm packing it in due to getting a job.. miserable git said "oh thanks for giving me notice"

Nob chops... you have a weeks notice I'm only doing a Sunday round now. :evil: :twisted:
