How much could my Dad's MTB be worth?

The day is going to come when my 957 is back as my permanent bike and I have to give back my current steed, a 95 Marin Indian Fire Trail, back to its rightful owner, my Dad.

Now... My Dad.... :D Bought this bike brand new back in 1995 and has barely used it! I am 99% sure it is running the original brake pads, definitely all original other parts aside from rims & tyres which needed replacing. Even had the original toe-clips!

So, with a brand spanking Audi TT on the drive and an old IFT in the garage, which is he going to use, bearing in mind he is 58 and although not infirm, is happier pottling around the garden, etc, than riding the bike, so I am considering selling it for him.

The bike is in fine condition, however the frame has done that typically alloy thing of the lacquer going patchy and it being "spotty" - That the right word? I assume a full sanding down, polishing up, and relacquering will sort it out, and I don't fancy that job personally.

The bike is fully XT equipped, original "lite" forks, double butted stays, funny square shaped lower rear end. Very light bike for its day I believe.

Any thoughts?

Note this is not a For Sale thread as its not my bike to sell!
