i take it 34.9 is a rare tube size lol

the manitou frame needs a larger one than 34.9mm. only the fixed part of the clamp is stock, the other half is custom to make it larger. that's what makes it rare.

i got one of those on a frame in the attic.

If i wasnt going to rebuild it id bung it on ebay if it goes for the BIN price!

presumably what makes it special is that it is actually slighty too small for the frame, hence the seat tube crimping he describes on the manitou comp frame he is selling.......................

of course if you have one of the 3 uncracked manitou frames left in existence it's a must have

in that respect ALL front ders are ALWAYS too small. there's always a small gap left when properly tightend and any dumbo can easily damage the seat tube of any aluminum frame by overtightening the clamp. a standard 34.9mm clamp wouldnt work at all on the Manitou frame.

Yep I've got one of those 3 uncracked frames, but I'm waiting for one of the other two to crack so the market for spare front deraileurs becomes significantly reduced and I can pick one up cheap.

The clamp is quite normal, the is a band version for frames like this.
This type with a "endless strap"
That one is hard to find, especially the M900, I have seen a few and went for about 50 euro.
