as a second thought the more you chomp the more travel you get.torsional stiffness may be an issue tho.

3- I've got RockShox Suspension posts. 1 on my Karakoram and 1 for my full-suss bike if I want to give it overkill squishyness but this will more than probably go on my ss bike when built up.

If I had the £'s though, I'd get a Cane Creek Thudbuster.

If you can't afford a full suspender, then sus. seatposts are a mediocre alternative.
